About Us

The Northern Tier Unified Arts Association was formed on February 19, 2021. The organization is a Pennsylvania Non-profit and 501(c)3. The NTUAA strives to support and provide arts experiences and education for our area. The NTUAA is comprised of five affiliate members: the Troy Town Band, the Endless Mountain Choral Society, the Troy Town Jazz Band, the Troy Youth Arts Camp, and the Canton Music Club.

Like many rural areas, the greater Troy and Bradford County area is underserved for art/music education and art/music opportunities. Rural communities deserve substantive art and music making experiences just as much as well-to-do and metropolitan areas. The NTUAA strives to level the art-making playing field.

The Beginning

Our President, Robert Oldroyd and Vice President, Linda Nickerson started laying the groundwork for the NTUAA in 2013. The Troy Youth Arts Camp and the Troy Town Band were growing, and the Endless Mountain Choral Society was just beginning. Linda and Robert were writing grants for the groups, but they quickly discovered that if the organizations worked together, the groups could make a greater impact. Over time, a team of community members created the framework for the new non-profit, the Northern Tier Unified Arts Association.
